9 and 10 year olds sold to old men? Raped and brutalized? Where's the muslim leadership? Screeching at the jews?

Tiny Voices Defy Child Marriage in Yemen

Nujood Ali, 10, at her parents’ home in Sana, Yemen. In April, she demanded a divorce from her abusive 30-year-old husband. A judge granted her request.

JIBLA, Yemen — One morning last month, Arwa Abdu Muhammad Ali walked out of her husband’s house here and ran to a local hospital, where she complained that he had been beating and sexually abusing her for eight months.

That alone would be surprising in Yemen, a deeply conservative Arab society where family disputes tend to be solved privately. What made it even more unusual was that Arwa was 9 years old.

Within days, Arwa — a tiny, delicate-featured girl — had become a celebrity in Yemen, where child marriage is common but has rarely been exposed in public. She was the second child bride to come forward in less than a month; in April, a 10-year-old named Nujood Ali had gone by herself to a courthouse to demand a divorce, generating a landmark legal case.

Waqas Parvez is taken into police custody yesterday. He and his father face charges in the death of Aqsa Parvez, found strangled in December.

The shocking murder of Mississauga teen Aqsa Parvez took another disturbing twist yesterday when Peel Regional Police arrested her older brother and charged him with first-degree murder.

Waqas Parvez, 26, now joins his father Muhammad Parvez, 57, before the courts on pre-meditated murder charges in the Dec. 10, 2007 strangling death of the 16-year-old high school student who friends say did not want to wear the traditional Muslim Hijab head scarf and was rebellious against the strict Muslim rules laid down inside her family home.

Muslims in the name of Islam burning down 5 girl's schools - Muslims want girls locked in the house, enslaved, castrated, brutalized and illiterate.

Helpless Christian girls beheaded in Indonesia for just going to school!

Just as the only slavery in the 21st century is in the muslims world, so too the only place girl's schools are being destroyed, and girls being murdered for going to school is in the muslim world in the name of Islam. Not a word said from any muslim "leader".

True slavery in the 21st century exists only in the muslim world, and no muslim leader has ever said or done anything against slavery

True slavery in the 21st century exists only in the muslim world, and no muslim leader has ever said or done anything against slavery, only doubletalk and blame shifting - wherever Christianity has gone, slavery has gradually and slowly and imperfectly disappeared - wherever Islam has gone, slavery has flourished unchecked

Slavery in Islam

Islam permits the taking of slaves as “booty” or as a reward for waging jihad. Slavery became a Muslim tradition at the time that Mohammed moved to Medina and amassed sufficient power for the enslavement of non-Muslims.

Slavery is an accepted part of Islamic society and is never viewed in a negative way in the Koran, Sira or Hadith. In fact, it is a God-given right for Muslims to have slaves.

[6:7] Allah has given more of His gifts of material things to some rather than others. In the same manner, those who have more do not give an equal share to their slaves so that they would share equally. Would they then deny the favors of Allah.

Although Islam has sustained slavery for 1400 years, a Muslim may never be enslaved. Only non-believers or kafirs may be enslaved and may be eligible for freedom upon conversion to Islam at the discretion of the slave owner. Slavery is viewed as a moral good in Islam as it transforms a kafir into a believer.

Slaves have no means for legal action in Islam and their rights are based solely on the good will of their master. If a slave flees his master, this is view as a sin against Allah.

Slaves have few civil or legal rights.

The following are rules pertaining to slavery from the Shariah:

1) Muslim men may have sex with female slaves at any time and it is not possible to “rape” a slave.

2) Slaves have the same status as animals and it is permissible to whip them.

3) No Muslim can be put to death for murdering a slave.

4) A slave’s testimony is inadmissible in court.

5) Slaves can be forced to marry whomever their master chooses and may not choose their marriage mate.

6) Christians and Jews who do not pay the jizya or protection tax can be enslaved.

In his book, Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters, historian Robert Davis estimates that North African Muslims abducted and enslaved more than 1 million white Christian Europeans from the coastal towns from Sicily to Cornwall between 1530 and 1780. Muslim slavers also seized people from Britain, Ireland, Iceland and even American seaman on ships in the Atlantic.

tens of thousands of helpless little girls from the UK being castrated

This could as well be a helpless male slave being castrated:

Female (castration) circumcision: a tradition steeped in blood
Brian Brady reports on a police operation to protect more than 20,000 girls, some aged nine or younger, thought to be in danger of forced genital mutilation

Police are to stage high-profile checks on flights to a number of African states in an attempt to stop young girls being taken abroad to be forcibly mutilated with the consent of their parents.

Research commissioned by the Department of Health suggests that more than 20,000 British girls are at risk of being forced into the agonising procedure, where all or part of their external genitals are cut off and stitched up. Officers will question all adults taking girls on certain flights, believing it is their best chance of saving thousands of children from female genital mutilation at the hands of tribal "elders" called in by their own families.

Moves to tackle the culturally sensitive issue will come as ministers from several government departments struggle to stamp out the ancient tribal tradition amid evidence that thousands of British girls are at risk from a ritual that is supposed to mark their transition into womanhood.

Hello world!
Castration is NOT a culturally sensitive issue - castration is pure evil that's been enthusiastically supported by the entire world of islam

Women are taking off their headscarves and wearing jeans - more proof the headscarf is central to extremism

The Booze Is Back in Baghdad
Slowly, in certain urban pockets, a more liberal, secular culture is returning to Iraq's streets.

Elias Khalaf's cracked grin may have saved his life. The portly, balding liquor-store owner was kidnapped five months ago by fundamentalists who held him prisoner in a brick factory for five days until he convinced them he couldn't raise the ransom they demanded. "If I had any money," he asked his jailers, "don't you think I'd fix my teeth?" As soon as he was released, he shut down his shop in Baghdad—the last of nine liquor stores he'd once owned throughout Iraq, from Mosul in the north to the southern Shiite religious heartland.

Khalaf is now thinking of starting up again. He stands and watches the steady stream of customers into and out of Jaguar, a liquor shop owned by a friend of his near the Green Zone. The floor-to-ceiling shelves are kept stocked with Johnnie Walker, Chivas Regal and a mysterious clear liquid in bottles plastered with the Hertz logo. Until a few months ago, buyers often had the storekeeper disguise their purchases, pouring their whisky into soft-drink bottles before venturing back to the street. Now the trade is brisk and wide open. It's fueling Khalaf's dreams of getting back in the business, maybe even opening a casino—one of those dimly lit rooms where Iraqi men sip drinks while playing cards or backgammon.

Iraqis aren't merely boozing it up. Men are shaving their beards; women are wearing jeans and taking off their headscarves; couples are holding hands in public. Musicians and DJs feel safe to take more gigs at weddings and parties. In the grassy riverside parks alongside Baghdad's Abi Nawas Street, young couples sit close on the new sod. Amin Hussein, 21, flips and spins, showing off some moves from the Brazilian martial arts he was forbidden from teaching in his neighborhood until a few months ago. ("This is an Islamic country," militia enforcers warned him.)

More proof that a headscarf ban in all schools would start a HUGE domino effect that would shrink extremism

Campus Radicals: A New Muslim Student Group
Tries to Rouse the Moderates

The school year that just ended brought to the fore a couple of controversies over Muslim students on U.S. campuses. The University of Michigan announced in the fall that it would be spending $25,000 on footbaths for Muslim students. In the spring, Harvard's decision to provide women-only gym hours to accommodate some members of the campus Islamic society sparked debate in the ivory tower and beyond. Yet away from the often-harsh media glare, a profound shift has begun across the country. Where dogma and conformity once defined the Muslim scene on campus, students with liberal outlooks are emerging to assert their voices on the quad. At some American colleges where the only official Muslim events used to feature gender-segregated seating, new programs are drawing diverse Muslim and non-Muslim participants to explore the complexity of the Muslim community.

Only a half-century ago, there was hardly any Muslim communal presence at American universities. In the 1960s, the Muslim World League, a Saudi charity, funded the establishment of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), initially to support foreign students studying in the U.S. and, according to the organization's Web site, to advance Da'wah (proselytizing). The MSA established its first chapter at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and now can be found on more than 100 campuses across North America.

Critics have challenged the MSA founders' associations with the Muslim Brotherhood, the largest Sunni radical movement (a Brotherhood internal memo from 1991 included the MSA in a list of "organizations of our friends"), and note the MSA's publication in the 1980s of the writings of Ibn Abd al-Wahhab, the founder of Wahhabism, the ultraconservative interpretation of Islam that dominates Saudi Arabia. Others have also pointed out some of the more notorious MSA leaders -- such as Rutgers MSA co-founder Ramzi Yousef, who is currently imprisoned for helping plan the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

This kind of radicalism does not appeal to most Muslim students, of course, who are simply trying to maintain a connection to their faith while they are at school. Nouri, a sophomore in Boston who asked not to be identified by his full name, recalls an outside imam lecturing his campus MSA about the "great sins" of looking at members of the opposite sex and missing prayers because of classes. "We were at a modern liberal university," Nouri observes, "listening to an imam who stepped out of the medieval period." When Muslims on his campus broke Ramadan's daylight fasts at iftars, separate food lines and tables were set up for men and women.

The result on many campuses is a binary scene, divided between what Nouri calls "hardcore Muslims and cultural Muslims." More than 70% of Muslim students on campus, he estimates, are not involved with any organized Muslim association.

When are the muslims going to get out of Medina and return it to the rightful owners, the jews? Much of the middle east belongs to jews and christians

Video: “Jerusalem belongs to the Jews…Period!”

..........Dr. Mordechai Kedar, a lecturer from Bar Ilan University’s Department of Arabic Studies who states unequivocally that Jerusalem belongs to the Jewish people.

Kedar: “To tell you the truth I don’t quite understand this. Must Israel ask permission from some other authority in the world? It has been our capital for 3,000 years. We have been there since the time your forefathers used to drink wine, bury their daughters alive, and pray to multiple gods.”

Keidar was referring to a period Arabs call Jahiliyyah (ignorance of divine guidance), which prevailed in the Arab world before the time of the Islam. “So then,” he continued, “why must we speak about this? It has been our city for 3,000 years and will be for eternity.”

The stunned Rayyan refused to give up. “Excuse me Mr. Mordechai! If you would like to speak about history let’s talk about the Kuran as well. You cannot deny the existence of Jerusalem in the Kuran! I ask you to refrain from making statements that offend Arabs and Muslims. Let’s please stay with our topic,” he said.

“Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Kuran,” Keidar said.

Rayyan stated the verse that, according to Muslim belief, refers to Jerusalem, but Keidar continued to object. “Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Kuran even once.“

More proof that moderation of extremism lies in laws to assimilate by first and foremost banning the headscarf in all schools and the workplace

No one should be forced into wearing the symbol of hatred and death - especiallly young children

Parvez's father now faces first-degree murder charge

Police upgraded charges to first-degree murder against the father of a teenaged Brampton girl who friends say was feuding with her family over her refusal to wear a hijab.

The girl’s murder gained international attention after high school classmates claimed that the girl had clashed with her devout Muslim family about her refusal to wear traditional clothes. The strained relations drove Aqsa out of her home and to another Muslim family, who described her as a “typical” teenager who yearned for acceptance while straddling the Muslim and Western cultures. They disputed the claim that the friction was over a hijab, and said the girl was repairing her relationship with her family in the days leading up to her death.

Islamic Saudi Academy Director Arrested for Obstruction of Justice

June 16, 2008

Fairfax, VA

On June 9th, Fairfax County Police arrested the Director General of the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA), Mr. Abdalla I. Al-Shabnan, on the charges of Obstruction of Justice without Force (VA Code 18.2-460). Charged and released on the same day, Mr. Al-Shabnan is out on his own recognizance as he awaits his first hearing at Fairfax County General District Court on August 1, 2008, at 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Al-Shaban's arrest stems from an investigation into the ISA's alleged failure to comply with State requirements for reporting child abuse. According to authorities, instead of reporting the child abuse, Mr. Al-Shabnan deleted the report, contacted the student's parents, and recommended psychological counseling for the young victim. Mr. Al-Shaban's June 9 arrest comes after a May 23rd police search of the ISA where they gathered evidence that has contributed to the charges against Mr. Al-Shabnan.

Years of Controversy Continue

The ISA has been at the center of controversy for many years. A 2007 United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) report recommended to the State Department to call for the closure of the school. The 2007 USCIRF report prompted a coalition of concerned grassroots organizations to request the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to delay the renewal of the ISA lease until a Federal investigation into the ISA was completed. During the May 19 Fairfax County Board of Supervisors hearing, County Supervisors dismissed concerns as slanderous, bigoted, and unfounded. During the course of the hearing, Gerald Connolly, Fairfax County Chairman and Democratic Candidate for the 11th Congressional District, apologized to Mr. Al-Shabnan for what he deemed slanderous accusations that impugned the integrity of the Islamic Saudi Academy.

Since that May 19 hearing, the Mr. Al-Shabnan has been arrested and the USCIRF has confirmed ISA textbooks justify murder as an Islamic right.

Only Supervisor Gross has responded to the issue, and she continues her support for the ISA, and its textbooks that contain passages filled with hate and incitement to violence. Chairman Connolly has yet to retract his apology to the ISA and Mr. Al-Shabnan. Supervisor Hyland has not yet commented on whether the texts cited in the USCIRF report are the similar to those he identified as "texts of concern" during his independent and undocumented investigation of the ISA.

These hateful passages remain despite a 2006 US State Department request for the ISA to remove all insensitive and offensive content from textbooks. The ISA's non-compliance with the 2006 US State Department request has not been accounted for and raises concerns about what the ISA, as an extension of the Saudi government, considers offensive, and the level of accountability they have to their local hosts and Federal government.

Since the US Treasury Department still considers Saudi Arabia as one of the leading financiers of terrorism, and USCIRF reports identify Saudi Arabia's education as filled with incitements to murder as a religious freedom, the US State Department has not commented as to whether they will extend this policy and allow Iran and North Korea to open official schools in the US as well.

The ISA has run afoul of Virginia law before in hiring a bus driver, Abdelrazeg Abdalla, who had a suspended license, seven traffic violations, a misdemeanor for kidnapping his wife and child at knife point, and a six month detainment by Homeland Security. Nevertheless, the ISA hired Mr. Abdalla as a bus driver. Mr. Abdalla, operating a faulty ISA, bus was responsible for a 2005 multi-car accident.

Additionally, the ISA winner of the superlative Most Likely to Be a Martyr, and 1999 class valedictorian, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, has been convicted on charges of terrorism and attempting to assassinate President Bush. On June 6, 2008, that conviction was upheld by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.

As a result for the a May 19 hearing, the ISA's lease of Fairfax County property continues for another year, as the Board of Supervisors unanimously supports the ISA as a model school beyond reproach.

A video of the complete May 19 Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Hearing on the Islamic Saudi Academy can be found at:

Select "Public Hearings" from the May 19 links.

Of Note in the video of the May 19 meeting:
42:58 Fairfax County Chairman Connolly charges of slander remarks
49:35 Supervisor Gross: Latin can be violent and Parochial Schools contain material as equally offensive as the ISAs.
1:02 Supervisor Hyland begins testimony about why and how they're is no documentation on his investigation

Murder, hatred brainwashing young vulnerable children - tomorrow's soulless killers of our children

Mainstream Islamic teaching taught at Virginia Islamic school: adulterers and apostates should be killed
What do you expect? The idea that adulterers and apostates should be killed isn't "extremist" or "hijacked" Islam. It's mainstream Islamic teaching, taught in the Sunnah and all the schools of Islamic law. I know that pointing that out will earn me more charges of "Islamophobia," but reality is reality, fellows. This is just Islamorealism.

No go areas in Britain:are first and foremost empowered by women covered head to toe or facing rape and/or murder

Muslim ‘No-Go Areas’ in Britain? Just Go There!

We should not pander to the assumed superiority of those who would intimidate us.

In February this year, Christian evangelists Arthur Cunningham and Joseph Abraham were doing what Christian evangelists do: handing out Bible extracts. They were stopped by a representative of the law, threatened with arrest if they carried on preaching in “a Muslim area,” and warned that they might get beaten up if they came back.

Where did this incident take place? Saudi Arabia, Iran, or Pakistan, where Christian preaching is forbidden and apostates persecuted? No, this “Muslim area” was in Alum Rock, Birmingham, England. That’s right — England, cradle of free speech; England, a country with an established, if enfeebled, Church, and where seventy-five percent of citizens (at the 2001 census) describe themselves as Christian. The man who stopped the evangelists, calling their preaching a “hate crime,” was Naeem Naguthney, a police community support officer (PCSO), and a Muslim. Granted, a PCSO is not a full police officer, and has only limited powers of law enforcement. But which law was he enforcing? It looks suspiciously like Sharia.

This is not the first time an English “Muslim area” has hit the news. In 2006, Muslim preacher Abu Izzadeen expressed outrage that then-Home Secretary John Reid was visiting “a Muslim area”: East London. Yet when the bishop of Rochester recently warned that Britain was developing Muslim no-go areas, he was denounced by Muslims as — what else? — Islamophobic. Many non-Muslims joined in the condemnation. Others argued that the no-go areas were ideological, rather than literal, but this argument rather misses the point: Islam is, and always has been, territorial.

The choice of words — “Muslim area” — is significant. Non-Muslims are not merely told that their behavior might upset or anger Muslims, but that they themselves are on Muslim soil, where such behavior is forbidden. As I have argued before, Islam is concerned far more with territory than with piety. Do the young Muslimahs in the picture below look pious? Or are they belligerently defending their turf?

Each niqab allowed in the workplace, each new mosque, each “hate-speech law” is, as London’s new Mayor Boris Johnson put it, “another yard of territory in the kulturkampf of modern Britain.”

Alum Rock has, in accordance with the tenets of jihad, been claimed for the Dar al-Islam. And once Islam has claimed an area, that area cannot be taken back without a fight. So, are we going to give them a fight? And fight not only the enemy, but those who appear to have sided with them: West Midlands Police?

West Midlands Police have not apologized, and instead of sacking Naguthney immediately, they have merely given him training on the nature of “hate crimes.” Such craven appeasement of Muslims is not unprecedented: it was the West Midlands Police force which tried to prosecute Channel 4, whose excellent TV documentary Undercover Mosque revealed the open sedition and hatred of the West preached in our mosques. That prosecution failed, but for now West Midlands Police must be seen as accomplices, albeit perhaps unwitting, in the jihad against our country.

Mr. Cunningham and Mr. Abraham have fired the first shots in the counter-jihad: they are demanding a full and unreserved written apology from West Midlands Police, and have given notice that they regard this incident as a breach of their convention rights under the 1998 Human Rights Act. They are supported by the Christian Institute pressure group, and by Christian Voice, which plans to leaflet the area this weekend.

Outside this immediate battle, how do we fight the territorial expansion of Islam? My answer is simply not to accept that there are “no-go areas”: just go there. Libby Purves, writing recently in the London Times on the dangers of walking around London late at night, makes points that apply to all “no-go areas,” Muslim or not:

I am not foolhardy; I stay away from alleys and don’t flash jewelery. But I know parts of London in particular to be increasingly dangerous, and with growing caution comes growing rage. I will not be kept cringing indoors, not by day or night; nor should any man or woman in a free country.

It was another woman, Eleanor Roosevelt, who said: “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission.” So we, men and women, should not grant that permission, and should not pander to the assumed superiority of those who would intimidate us, whether thugs or Muslims or both.

Turning to “Muslim no-go areas”, here is my advice: just go there. Look those niqab-clad women in the eye — it is all you can look them in — and raise a quizzical eyebrow at their alien garb.

Look with contempt at their “masters” swaggering along in jeans two steps in front of them.

Above all, just go there.

Castrate tiny, helpless girls - and the cowardly media is too wussie to stand up to these filthy perverts

Denmark: Couple arrested on female circumcision charges
Copenhagen police arrested a couple for circumcising their daughters in Sudan.

The girls are now 9 and 11 years old, but according the police, the mutilations may have been done back in the summer of 2003. In that period the parents brought their two children back to their homeland, and are suspected of getting a third person to do the circumcision.

The father (49) and the mother (40) are suspected in addition of wanting to do the same to a third daughter, who today is 5 years old.

Bloodless social linchpin laws will undermine and shrink the influence of this mindset

France: Father prevents male doctor from treating wife, sues hospital
A French Muslim couple who sued a hospital after their son was born heavily handicapped were instead fined EUR 1,000 on Tuesday for refusing the presence of a male doctor during labour.

Mohammed Ijjou was born severely handicapped on 8 November 1998 as a result of neurological complications during birth.

According to the appeal court ruling, his father Radouane Ijjou physically barred a male intern from entering his wife's room for half an hour, citing religious reasons, after a midwife asked for help with the labour.

The mindset that entitles it to brutalize young women must be moderated - the dominos must start to fall

Yemeni "Honor" Killing: Man Avenges his Honor, Kills 9 More Just for fun

A man who killed ten people in a shooting rampage outside a mosque in north-western Yemen last week told a court on Sunday that he intended to avenge his honour by killing a man sexually involved with his sister.

The mindset that entitles it to brutalize young women must be moderated - the dominos must start to fall.

The entire world was mired in horrific slavery before the Christian era. The Vikings were slavers, St. Patrick was a slave in Ireland, the Italians were slavers as was all of Europe. Africa, Asia, North, Central and South America were all thralls of slavery and tribalism.

As Christianity slowly, imperfectly, made it's way across the non-islamic world, true slavery slowly disappeared.

When the democrat party was trying to spread slavery to the Arizona and New Mexico territories, the Republican Party was formed in 1854 on the premise that the horrors of slavery needed to expand in order to flourish. If the dominos of slavery started to fall, slavery would disappear. My ancestors were involved in the Republican effort to end slavery from 1854 on.

Wherever islam has gone, slavery has flourished and flourishes today - wherever Christianity has gone, albeit slow and imperfect, the dominos have fallen, and true slavery has disappeared.

From the time when Mohammad was raping slaves, islam has been forefront in the abomination of slavery and the only true slavery in the world remains behind the blood soaked veil of islam.

Coward violence widespread in Sweden (as well as all over the Western world including America)

Honor (coward) violence widespread in Sweden

Honour-related violence is rampant across the country, according to a new study by Sveriges Radio.
Nearly 60 percent of the country’s social services have helped victims of honour violence or those threatened with honour violence to hide themselves.

75 percent of the country’s social services answered a survey from Sveriges Radio. Seven of ten responded that they had dealt with cases involving honour-related violence....

Stop coward violence with bloodless linchpin laws now! A simple ban on the headscarf in schools, the workplace, and all government offices will start a powerful domino effet

Woman who defied killers murdered by muslim coward killers

Mother who defied the killers is gunned down

she witnessed suffocate, stamp on, then stab their young daughter Rand in a brutal 'honour' killing for which he has shown no remorse.

Though she feared reprisals for speaking out, she really believed that she would soon be safe. Arrangements were well under way to smuggle her to the Jordanian capital, Amman. In fact, she was on her way to meet the person who would help her escape when a car drew up alongside her and two other women who were walking her to a taxi. Five bullets were fired: three of them hit Leila, 41. She died in hospital after futile attempts to save her.

Her death, on 17 May, is the shocking denouement to a tragedy which had its origins in an innocent friendship between her student daughter, Rand Abdel-Qader, 17, and a blond, 22-year-old British soldier known only as Paul.

The two had met while Rand, an English student at Basra University, was working as a volunteer helping displaced families and he was distributing water. Although their friendship appears to have involved just brief, snatched conversations over four months, Rand had confided her romantic feelings for Paul to her best friend, Zeinab, 19.

She died, still a virgin, four months after she had last seen him when her father, Abdel-Qader Ali, 46, discovered that she had been seen talking 'to the enemy' in public. She had brought shame on his honour, was his defence, and he had to cleanse his family name. Despite openly admitting the murder, he has received no punishment.

It was two weeks after Rand's death on 16 March that a grief-stricken Leila, unable to bear living under the same roof as her husband, found the strength to leave him. She had been beaten and had had her arm broken. It was a courageous move. Few women in Iraq would contemplate such a step. Leila told The Observer in April: 'No man can accept being left by a woman in Iraq. But I would prefer to be killed than sleep in the same bed as a man who was able to do what he did to his own daughter.'

Her words were to prove prescient. Leila turned to the only place she could, a small organisation in Basra campaigning for the rights of women and against 'honour' killings. Almost immediately she began receiving threats - notes calling her a 'prostitute' and saying she deserved to die like her daughter.

Even her sons Hassan, 23, and Haydar, 21, whom she claimed aided their father in their sister's killing, disowned her. Meanwhile, her husband, a former government employee, escaped any charges, and even told The Observer that police had congratulated him on what he had done.

It is not known who killed Leila. All that is known is that she was staying at the house of 'Mariam', one of the women's rights campaigners, whose identity The Observer has agreed not to reveal. On the morning of 17 May, they were joined by another volunteer worker and set off to meet 'a contact' who was to help Leila travel to Amman, where she would be taken in by an Iraqi family.

'Leila was anxious, but she was also happy at having the chance to leave Iraq,' said Mariam. 'Since the death of her daughter, her own life was at serious risk. And this was a great opportunity for her to leave the country and to fight for Iraqi women's rights.

'She had not been able to sleep the night before. I stayed up talking to her about her plans after she arrived in Amman. I gave her some clothes to take with her and she was packing the only bag she had. She was too excited to sleep.'

Mariam said that when she awoke Leila had already prepared breakfast, cleaned her house and even baked a date cake as a thank-you for the help she had been given. After the arrival of 'Faisal', the volunteer (whose identity is also being protected), the three left the house at 10.30am and started walking to the end of the street to get a taxi. They had walked less than 50 metres when they heard a car drive up fast and then gunshots rang out. The attack, said by witnesses to have been carried out by three men, was over in minutes. Leila was hit by three bullets. Mariam was hit in her left arm and Faisal in her left leg. 'I didn't realise I had been shot for a few seconds, because as I heard the gunfire I saw Leila falling to the ground and saw blood pouring from her head,' said Mariam. 'I was so shocked, I didn't immediately feel the pain.'

Two men ran from their homes to help. They rushed Leila to hospital and a passing taxi took the other two. But Leila died at 3.20pm, despite several operations to save her. As she lay in her own hospital bed receiving treatment, Mariam said that she heard someone saying that Leila had been shot in the head. But there were other mutterings that were clearly audible. 'I could hear people talking on the corridors and the only thing that they had to say was that Leila was wrong for defending her daughter's mistakes and that her death was God's punishment.

'In that minute I just had complete hatred in my heart for those who had killed her.'

Police said the incident was a sectarian attack and that there was nothing to link Leila's death to her family. 'Her ex-husband was not in Basra when it happened. We found out he was visiting relatives in Nassiriya with his two sons,' said Hassan Alaa, a senior officer at the local police station in Basra. 'We believe the target was the women activists, rather than Mrs Hussein, and that she was unlucky to be in that place at that time.'

It is plausible. Campaigners for women's' rights are not acceptable to many sections of Iraqi society, especially in Basra where militias have partial control in some districts and impose strict laws on locals, including what clothing they should wear and what religious practice they should follow.

Since February 2006, two other activists from the same women's organisation have been killed in the city. One of them was reportedly raped before being shot. The other, the only man working for the non-governmental organisation (NGO), and a father of five who was responsible for the organisation's finances, was shot five months ago.

There could be many with a grudge against such organisations. However, Mariam believes Leila was targeted, pointing out she had been hit by three bullets. 'When we were shot, they focused on Leila, not us,' she said.

Since the attack the NGO has stopped its work in Basra. 'We daren't answer the phones because we have received so many threats since we gave our support to Leila's case,' said Mariam. 'Most of our members are preparing to leave the city and even Iraq if they can raise the money.'

A single mother since her husband was killed for refusing to join a militia, she too intends to move when she can. Faisal, who also survived her injuries, is still suffering post-surgical infection. She preferred not to speak, but her mother, who wished to remain anonymous, said: 'My daughter is very shocked at what happened, and my two grandsons can't stop crying since they saw her in hospital.'

Leila's burial was arranged within hours of her death by the husband of one of her cousins and Mariam's father.

The Observer visited Rand's father and two brothers at their Basra home, but they refused to talk beyond Hassan proclaiming his father's innocence. When asked if he would be visiting his mother's grave, he shrugged: 'Maybe in the future.'

Leila was an orphan, raised by an uncle who died in the Shia uprising against Saddam Hussein in the early 1990s. Hamida Alaa, 68, a friend of the uncle, said: 'The poor woman was killed and now her name and history is buried with her. No one wants to speak about it. She is just one more woman killed in our country who has already been forgotten by the local society.'

In the last days of her life, Leila was suffering from the pressure of having gone against her husband. 'She was sleeping with the help of sedatives,' said Mariam. 'She would wake up at night with terrible nightmares, even dreaming of being suffocated as her daughter was. She had been threatened so many times and that's why she was so scared. Her indignation over Rand's death is what led her to her own coffin. Their history ends here. But Leila was a hero. A woman who was strong enough to say no to Iraqi men's bad attitudes. Sadly most Iraqi women do not have the same strength and they will stay in their homes.'

Mariam has moved out of her home. But within hours of speaking to The Observer a close friend went to her new address to deliver a message that had been left for her at her front door. It read: 'Death to betrayers of Islam who don't deserve God's forgiveness. Speaking less you will live more.' She believes it was sent by Leila's killers.

Castrate tiny, helpless girls - and the cowardly media is too wussie to stand up to these filthy perverts

Couple charged in Norway over genital mutilation of 5 daughters

OSLO, Norway: Police said Friday they have filed preliminary charges against a husband and wife for the genital mutilation of five of their daughters, the first such case opened under Norwegian laws against female circumcision.

The couple were both originally from Gambia, but are now Norwegian citizens, said a statement from Human Rights Services, an activist group that alerted police to the case. The daughters, ranging in age from 5 to 14 years, were all born in Norway.

Another coward killing

The Greater Filthy East - full of cowardly bully men who beat women and little girls to death

Saudi Human and Women's Rights Activist Wajeha Al-Huwaidar Speaks Out Against Honor Killings

On April 7, 2007, a teenage Yazidi Kurdish girl named Du'a Al-Aswad was stoned to death by a lynch-mob in Iraq, because she had violated her family's honor. A video of the stoning, filmed by the participants themselves using their mobile phones, was posted on .

A year after the stoning, Saudi reformist and human rights activist Wajeha Al-Huweidar wrote a scathing article in which she harshly criticized the sexist character of Arab culture and particularly the phenomenon of "honor killings."

The following are excerpts from her article, which appeared on the reformist website

"This Entire Part of the World [is Full of] Defeated and Dejected Men, Whose Only Way to Feel Victorious Is by Beating Women to Death"

"Last April, a 17-year old Iraqi girl named Du'a Khalil Al-Aswad fell in love with a boy from a different [religious] sect. By this act, she violated the 'honor' of the men in her sect, causing them to go mad with the boiling [rage] of hellfire. Their male [egos] swelled like cancerous tumors, and their minds locked into the primitive madness of 'honor.'

"They filled with restless madness, and in order to relive their anguish, they hurried to sentence poor Du'a to death, and then decided to carry out their sentence in the ugliest possible imaginable, i.e., by public stoning. They killed her with the utmost cruelty and depravity.

"Du'a Al-Aswad is a victim of the wild male madness called 'honor.' This concept is prevalent throughout the Greater Middle East [Al-Sharq Al-AwsatAl-Kabir], or perhaps I should say the Greater Filthy East [Al-Sharq Al-AwsakhAl-Kabir], since it is worthy of this label from every perspective - in particular [when it comes to] the treatment of women. From Pakistan and Afghanistan through Iran, the Middle East, and all the way to Morocco, this entire part of the world [is full of] defeated and dejected men, whose only way to gain some sort of victory is by beating their women to death.

Little girls age 3 to 10 sold into sexual slavery and unspeakable brutality - wake up, world.

How many times has the Western World been chastised, denounced as Islamophobic and threatened by muslims, for saying that the muslim religion is "soft on pedophilia"? If this taboo subject, abhorred by ALL Western nations, has no place in Islam then why are little girls - ages between 3 - 10 years old - considered old enough to be bartered (for a dead dog) as marriageable = brides??

Good Grief! Brutalized castrated vacant-eyed young women fight for right to murder just about everyone while committing suicide

Women Fight For Right To Join Al Qaeda

Muslim extremist women are challenging al Qaeda's refusal to include - or at least acknowledge - women in its ranks, in an emotional debate that gives rare insight into the gender conflicts lurking beneath one of the strictest strains of Islam.

In response to a female questioner, al Qaeda No. 2 leader Ayman Al-Zawahri said in April that the terrorist group does not have women. A woman's role, he said on the Internet audio recording, is limited to caring for the homes and children of al Qaeda fighters.

His remarks have since prompted an outcry from fundamentalist women, who are fighting or pleading for the right to be terrorists. The statements have also created some confusion, because in fact suicide bombings by women seem to be on the rise, at least within the Iraq branch of al Qaeda.

The headscarf is not the innocent little religious symbol as it's being portrayed - it's a symbol of supremacy and violence towards helpless girls

Denmark: Headscarf on the national team
The headscarf debate in Denmark continues.

Zenab El-Khatib (15) was recently chosen for the Danish football national team for youth. She had received permission from the DBU (Danish Football Association) to wear a specially prepared headscarf during tournaments.

She says that if she wouldn't have been allowed to do so, she would have been frustrated and upset by it, but that it wouldn't have brought her to take it off.

Zenab and her sisters were born in Denmark, her older brothers were born in Lebanon. She now lives in Odense and goes to 8th grade at Rising school. She hadn't played in a club till two years ago, but now she's playing as forward both for 1909/Fjordager IF and for the national team, and trains three times a week. More if she's up to it.

She says most think it's tough. Some who are very religious think it's wrong, and that Muslim girls shouldn't do that. But Zenab doesn't let other people's opinion influence her and she says her parents back her 100%.

She's been wearing a headscarf for the past year, ............

Another example of the headscarf being centrist to extremism

A crisis broke out when a Dutch man seated next to a headscarf-wearing Turkish woman on an airplane was removed from his seat, Turkish news channel NTV reported yesterday. The crisis occurred aboard a Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) plane flying from the Dutch capital Amsterdam to Istanbul. After takeoff, the woman asked that the man seated next to her be moved to another seat, arguing that it would be a sin under Islam for her to be sitting next to a man who is not her relative. As a result, the man, Lex van Drooge, who is a member of the Amsterdam Municipal Council for the Dutch governing party, the Christian Democratic Appeal, or CDA, was removed from the seat. Upon landing, van Drooge complained about the situation. In a statement to the press, van Drooge said the airline did not seem to know how to deal with this kind of situation. The headline about the incident in the Dutch press read, "KLM submitted to Islam." The airline company has started an investigation into the behavior of the cabin crew and issued a statement about the incident. The statement said such a practice is unacceptable, adding that the reason the male passenger was removed from his seat instead of the female passenger remains unclear. (ANSAmed).

Male supremacism and polygamy are centrist to the brutalization of women and children

For weeks, the three wives of Mansa Musa Muhummed and most of their 19 children have been telling a jury countless stories of torture and starvation that they kept to themselves for years.

Muhummed sat in a desert courthouse with a hand over his face, shaking his head in denial as family members described being beaten, strung up by their feet and forced to eat vomit and feces.
